Membership Categories & Costs

MCC offers affordable boat club membership in a variety of categories below. All  fees include GST and affiliation to Yachting NZ (YNZ) and the Auckland Yacht and Boating (AYBA) Association.

Junior Membership - $60 per year

Under 18 years. Entitled to use facilities but no formal voting rights at any Club meeting.

Intermediate Membership - $90 per year

18 years and over but under 20 years. Entitled to use facilities but no formal voting rights at any Club meeting.

Senior Membership - $235 per year

Over 20 years. Full use of all facilities. Has formal voting rights at Club meetings (one vote per membership).

Family Membership - $265 per year

One who is over the age of 20 years and who is entitled to bring a spouse/partner and all their children (less than 20 years) to the Club. Full use of facilities. One vote per Family Membership.

Veteran Membership - $155 per year

Veteran members, who shall have reached 65 years of age and have been a senior member for the past 5 years.

Veteran Family Membership - $180 per year

Veteran Family members, who shall have reached 65 years of age and have been a family member for the past 5 years.

Associate Membership - $135 per year

Associate members. Shall be persons who do not own a boat but who wish to have an active association with the club. Associate membership will not be available to members who have previously had membership status, or currently have same. An associate member shall not have voting rights, be eligible for election to the Executive Committee or be entitled to nominate a candidate for membership.

Country Membership - $135 per year

Country members who have previously been members of the club, but now reside more than 40kms from the clubhouse and who wish to retain their association with the club and apply to be transferred to associate status.

In addition to the annual membership fee, there is a one-off $100 Nomination Fee. This fee is not applicable for Associate Memberships or Junior Sailing Program Family Memberships.

Membership Process

  • Please complete a membership form and make upfront payment to the nominated bank account on the form
  • Submit your form to the office stating you have made the payment
  • Once payment is received the form will be processed by the office
  • The membership process takes approximately two months to complete
  • The membership details are read at 2 consecutive monthly Executive Committee meetings
  • After the first reading you will receive an email from the office
  • After the second reading you will be emailed to advise your welcome pack is ready to collect

The Executive Committee meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Use of the slipway facility and hardstand is available once you have gone through the full 2 month reading process. Please note there may be a waitlist due to demand of this facility.

Any membership that lapses, a new form will need to be completed and the member will go through the full reading process again. Your membership will reset as of the new date submitted.
